A growing hospitality company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and build their accounting team in addition to being responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage a team of 5-7 accounting professionals, including AP Staff Accountant, AP Specialist, and other accounting roles, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all financial operations.
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare internal and external financial statements.
Supervise AP and AR functions, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and payment approvals.
Utilize QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of all entries and financial data.
Address a significant backlog of data entry tasks, ensuring that financial records are up-to-date and accurate.
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounting department, particularly in response to recent growth and restructuring.
Provide regular financial reports to the CFO, including cash flow statements, budget variance reports, and other key financial metrics.
Work closely with the HR and Payroll team, ensuring seamless integration of payroll data into financial reports.
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is desirable
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
Proven ability to lead and develop an accounting team in a fast-paced environment.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial management and reporting.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders.
