Job Description

Growing non-profit organization is seeking a skilled Accounting Manager.
The Accounting Manager provides a hands-on functional leadership role of the Accounting Team with heavy involvement with day-to-day accounting responsibilities, including but not limited to performing and reviewing: Journal Entries;Reconciliations;AR;AP;Fixed Assets;Financial Reporting; Budgeting;Closing;and Audits (internal and external). This role ensures that departmental policies and procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls. Furthermore, this role will be responsible for identifying, recommending and implementing automations in accounting and other related functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Immediately serve as one of two Accountants on the team performing and reviewing each other’s Trust and Corporate Accounting functions
Identify, recommend and implement automations within the functional area
Oversee the work of the Accounting Team by continuing to perform and review: financial reporting;general and trust accounting;payables;budgeting/forecasting;and operational reporting & analysis
Prepare and manage the annual tax reporting including Form 990, Personal Property and other filings as appropriate
Closely work with the Financial Data Analytics Team to prepare and manage the financial statements, operational reports, budget variance analysis, financial forecasts, annual budgets, and other financial analysis reports and metrics generated by the Accounting Team
Monitor financial and operational activities, critical performance measurements and statistical data turning such information into useful reporting needed for critical decisio making
Utilize financial software to generate data and information used by management
Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and current accounting standards
Draft and update relevant policies and procedures as necessary
Assist in corporate strategy planning, execution, and results measurement
Coordinate annual audit of company financial operations to ensure compliance with state requirements and statutes
Ensure that requests for disbursement are properly authorized in accordance with company policies and procedures
Develop and maintain external relationships with banks, outside audit firm, investment manager/custodian and financial software vendor to facilitate the performance of effective and efficient financial operations

WORK EXPERIENCE

4 to 6 years prior work experience as a Supervisor or Manager of Accounting with demonstrated responsibility advancement
3-plus years of experience in a leadership role in Financial Data Analytics

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
CPA license a plus

TECHNICAL SKILLS Proficiency working with: o Financial accounting/reporting software (MicroSoft Dynamics and Maestro) o Financial database software (Tableau, PowerBI or similar at advance-level) o MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint at expert-level)
