Position Title: Client Account Manager / Controller
This position would effectively be an Account Manager working on client accounting instead of internal accounting. Effectively developing into “controller for hire”for a small portfolio of our insurance company clients, effectively "Client Based".
Key Responsibilities: - Assist in preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements - Prepare quarterly NAIC QS and FS filings - Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts for accurate financial reporting - Manage banking operations, including reconciliations and cash management - Reconcile and disburse premium escrow accounts accurately and timely - Invoice clients for service fees, reimbursable expenses, and other charges - Prepare and post accounts receivable accruals - Monitor and support accounts payable and receivable activities - Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis - Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors - Liaise with clients and other client providers - Oversee general office management and operational support - Utilize Workday accounting software for financial operations
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CPA preferred but not required) - Minimum 4–8years of progressive accounting experience - Proficiency with Workday or similar enterprise accounting software - In-depth knowledge of GAAP & STAT financial reporting requirements - Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis - Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities with precision and organization - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Experience in insurance, risk management, or financial services industry is a plus
