Job Description

Controller

Overview:
The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial reporting for development projects and entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role partners with senior leadership to drive financial strategy and support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and manage the development accounting team, ensuring high performance and accuracy.
Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and project cost analysis.
Prepare monthly financial statements, quarterly presentations, and project reports for executive review.
Ensure proper internal controls, compliance, and safeguarding of assets.
Manage accounts payable, bank draws, audits, and tax filings in collaboration with senior leadership.
Continuously evaluate and improve accounting procedures, systems, and processes.
Support annual budgets, pro forma development, and long-term financial planning.

Qualifications:

10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in construction.
Experience in commercial development and/or multi-family residential.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field;CPA license (Florida) preferred.
Proficiency in Sage 300/Timberline and advanced Excel skills.
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
