This manufacturing company located in Conroe, Texas is looking for a full time permanent Cost Accountant who will be responsible for analyzing cost data, improving financial performance, and ensuring accurate cost reporting to support business decisions.
Responsibilities:
•Maintain and analyze cost accounting records, systems, and processes •Prepare cost estimates, variances, and trend analyses •Reconcile perpetual inventory records with general ledger and physical counts •Ensure accuracy of WIP, scrap, rework, and inventory adjustment transactions •Identify slow-moving/obsolete items and recommend actions •Monitor inventory valuation and standard costs •Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning •Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiencies •Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial reporting •Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
Requirements:
•Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field •CPA certification (preferred but not required) •5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing •Strong knowledge cost accounting principles •Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills •Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization •Resolve issues with a win-win perspective •Strong organizational and time management skills
