Job Summary: The Accountant I will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and GAAP. This entry-level role will support senior accountants and the accounting department in various financial tasks, including processing transactions, maintaining records, and preparing reports. Ideally, this candidate will have experience with Accounts Payable (three-way matching), Accounts Receivable, and assisting with month-end closing.
Key Responsibilities:
Transaction Processing: Assist in processing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
General Ledger Maintenance: Support in maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Financial Reporting: Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems and maintain up-to-date records.
Expense Management: Assist in monitoring and analyzing company expenses.
Compliance: Ensure all financial transactions comply with company policies and GAAP.
Support Audits: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
Documentation: Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation and records.
Assist with Month-End Close: Support the month-end close process by preparing necessary journal entries and reconciliations.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred, but recent graduates with strong academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
