Our client is hiring for an Accountant- Accounting & Statutory Reporting in the Raleigh, NC location. This is a hybrid role with Tuesday-Thursday in the Raleigh, NC office. This role will be responsible for the preparation of NAIC and statutory financial reporting and filings. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional having expertise working in cross-functional teams with a continuous improvement mindset for processes and controls.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual regulatory and statutory filings, including all financial statements, schedules and footnotes/disclosure schedules to the financial statements
• Complete monthly accounting close related activities, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations for premiums, losses, reinsurance and statutory adjustments
• Assist in preparation and filing of supplemental schedules and state and regulatory reporting forms
• Compile financial data from tax and investment teams to include in regulatory and statutory filings
• Support premium tax filings in all states and municipalities, to include creating ACH requests
• Support external auditor activities relating to statutory audits, including providing certain schedules and variance explanations and audited financial statements and related footnote disclosures thereto
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’ s degree in Accounting
• CPA or CPA candidate
• Zero to five years of general accounting experience
• Strong experience with Excel and other accounting related tools; Oracle experience a plus
