Accounting Clerk
Location: Des Moines Metro Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Schedule: On-Site Compensation: $26–$30/hour
About the Role
We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join an established finance team. This position will primarily support accounts payable and general accounting activities while providing assistance with reporting, reconciliations, and other financial projects.
Responsibilities
Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
Review and process employee expense reports.
Prepare check runs, ACH payments, and other vendor payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and research invoice discrepancies.
Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
Compile financial data and assist with reporting and analysis.
Support audits and ad hoc requests for financial documentation.
Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
Cross-train in additional accounting functions as needed.
Qualifications
Associate's degree in Accounting or related field or 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Experience with accounts payable and financial transactions.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Professional communication skills and ability to work effectively with others.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including filtering and basic formula troubleshooting.
Experience with SAP or another ERP system is a plus.
Manufacturing or industry-related accounting experience is preferred.
